C. CLASSIFICATION/GROUPING COMPUTERS
Computer Generation
Based on his generation, computers can be
distinguished into:
1. First generation
Beginning
of next-generation electronics components your computer
has either a Vacum Tube. The first generation of computers is
still very large in size and also took out the
heat and still has a small capacity and very
limited. An example of this is thefirst generation computer IBM-650
2. Second generation
The transistor is the beginning of the entry of the second generation
of the computer. When compared to the vacuum
tube, transistor is much smaller so that
the computer will be much more physical, too. In addition
to the smaller second generationcomputers also
have a higher speed in the processing of the data, not
many took out the heat, and the greater the memory
capacity and already
have data process i.e.Teleprocessing far between one
computer with another. Examples of the second generation
of computers was IBM 1410, IBM 1620 Model, etc.
3. The third generation
Solid Logic Technologies
and Monolithic Integrated Circuit is a great
invention in electronics technology. With this size
of computers getting smaller and bigger memory capacity as
well as the process can be done quickly and
precisely. Example of a third-generation computer was an
IBM S/730, UNIVAC 1106, etc.
4. Fourth generation
Great discovery in the fourth generation,
Large Scale Integration (LSI) which can contain hundreds
of components in only a chip. Not how
long hose (1980) then also found the product produced in
the 1980s, namely the Very
Large Scale Integration (VLSI) who has an uncanny
ability to be loading thousands of components in
only a single chip. And maybe the
Ultra-Large Scale Integration (ULSI) that have a
more remarkable ability to be able to increase that
number into millions. One of the products is the
Intel 4004 chip made in the mid tahun1971.
5. Fifth generation
A lot of progress in the field of computer design and
technology increasingly allowsthe manufacture of fifth
generation computer. Parallel processing model will
replacethe non Neuman, a model with a system that is
capable of coordinating a lot of the CPU to
work simultaneously which can speed up the information. Japan is
a countrythat is well known in the fifth generation computer socialization.
Wait For The Sequel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
